How do I make you smile
It wasn't a kiss goodbye
I know I will be back
Sometime
This way
I cannot leave you
Crying the tears you do
Leave their tattoo
Upon your checks
Forever marked
Forever scared
Imprinted on my memory
Not the lasting impression
I want
Or need
To carry
On my new journey
I need to leave
All wounds healed
None left open
To fester away
To carry me
Back this way
Unless
My choice is that
Not held
To Ransom
By guilt
Or your desires
That choice
Is mine alone
Be pleased
In the knowledge
That I will return
Strengthened
Renewed
As I walk away
Smile is all
